  • Yes, pneumatic however technically there is not a starter; I would say it has a pneumatic starting system. Highly compressed air is distributed to the cylinders in a timely fashion to rotate the engine. Spark is applied to start combustion. As stated, many other systems are powered pneumatically as well. Cheers!

  • Everything on the Yak's is air driven, flaps, brakes, starter, gear. it sounds like a mac truck when you taxi
