Have you ever had a hummingbird perch on your finger and feed from a bottle of nectar? We did!!!!! It was sooooo amazing. Their little tiny feet . . .!!!! Rocklands Bird santuary was started by a woman in the 50's and now the man who worked for her, lives there and tends to the little birds. A must do if you are in Jamaica!

  • Thanks for sharing that. Now I want to go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am an artist and have sculpted many long-tailed hummers that look just like that one!

  • It was truly amazing. An artist! Nice. You should put some of your work on your channel. I would to see it. I was studying art for a while.

  • Thank you for the hummies!

  • You welcome! If I remember correctly, the Doctor (the ones with the long tails) are the Jamaican national bird.

  • OOH boy! Pink little beak and long tail!!

    So trusting, WOW.

Cindy, I am a little envious

Mesmerizing. That made my day :-)

    Big hug to you.

  • Big hug back! :) This was amazing feeling it perch on my finger. It's little feet were so delicate. It was incredible. When we were at my Mom's, I wanted to try the same but we didn't have time. However, these little birds are so hungry, one day, as I was returning the feeder, rather than hanging it right away, I just held it and they started feeding! And Sutra, thanks for subscribing!

  • About 1968 I went to this Rockland hummingbird place and met the lady who owned the place. Was watching the "beauty of pollinisation when I saw something about your place In Jamaica and just loved it. Today I live in Puerto Vallarta, Mx and feed the hummers here. Thanks for the memories. Adriana

  • Nice video

  • I will post some of my art.... but it will probably not happen today.... I have a very busy day scheduled. But I can probably get the vids made & post them tonight of tomorrow. I'll try. Besides hummers, I use a lot of quetzels. They are so beautiful also!
