  • Where is the gasoline coming from to power this thing? I see the battery but no fuel.

  • @EXP0SEtheFRAUDS A small Antifreeze Jug filled with Gasoline, zip tied to the stand ;)

  • Is that a stock pan i see? I had one of those on my 383/385 and it ran out of oil at 7000rpm. I won't ever use one of those again. I'm running a 8 qt now. Also i see you set the cam timeing at 0. I put a BIG cam in mine and then advanced the cam timeing 4 degrees and it made the engine a torque monster. It is such a little thing to do and it makes a huge difference but it seem's knowone ever knows what i'm talkin about. It's a great little trick. Just have a forged rolling assembly or BOOOOOOM!

  • @hpjunky70 Yes, this is a 5qt pan and it works, I think people have the tendency to over build their engines. When it comes to 383's, getting your Crank balanced correctly and using good balancer has more to do with longevity of your engine. Guys would race 383's 30 or more years ago without Forged internals mainly because it was not available to the average person as it is today. I remember my boss telling me a story how he paid $5k for Alum. SBC Heads in 1979 and flew by plane to get them

  • @jdmonly87 No problems at all

  • hows those heads working for you any problems ?

  • @VintagedreamcarsV8Maybe you missed my point on the oil pan.I ment if your runnning 7000 your going to run out of oil(if you have a high volume oil pump). If you run out of oil there's a good chance your going to spin bearings and I've never heard of anyone over building an engine. The better parts you have, the better off you will be.Back in the good old days they used high nickle blocks and forged steel cranks in stock engines. That's why the took a beating and lasted so long.

  • @shize9ine I would deffenetly get a Roller Cam, if your budget allows it, that is why I like to use One Piece Blocks, Summit is selling already machined 1 pice 4 bolt blocks for 383 stroker for $750

The green stuff is some transmission assembly grease to seal the plastic while my boss was cc'ing the heads. you alway want to do this step, you can't never trust the manufacture because there are always a little bit of diffrence, unless your buying from AFR. LOL

  • @0330march Procomp 195cc, they where rated with 64cc but after Measuring it was 65cc

  • @Z28Racer I believe we decked the block with .003 to spare

  • @VintagedreamcarsV8

    Impressive numbers!

Quick question, what is the green stuff @ 1:22 on your heads around the valves? Some kind of sealant? (Almost looks like assembly lube haha)

I am rebuilding my 383 stroker right now. AFR heads & roller rocker lifters but no roller cam, hopefully if i'm lucky i'll make around 430 at the wheels.
