@malows1234 actually the entire movie, district 9 was showing off all this crazy alien weapon tech and your telling me you were surprised by the action scene ending???..........like seriously I sometimes think people complain just for the sake of complaining..........btw; future movie viewing tip: if your watching a movie and a gun is flashed on screen about forty times chances are its gonna get used.
@malows1234 if you want to watch a great movie with a random action scene that comes out of nowhere (and sort of ruins the movie a little)..........go watch Dark City.
@malows1234 ????..............if it came out of left field then I would agree with you but the big action scene at the end made perfect sense and I saw it coming a mile away..........seriously though how did you expect them to end it......what you thought the humans would just let christopher go up to the ship just like that..............I saw that action scene coming a mile away..........made perfect sense and made an amazing movie even more amazing.
@IGNsucks district 9 is fucking amazing and kicks the ass of avatar. but i have to confess. i was dissapointed in the direction it took. like the first half of the movie was just pure excellent filmmaking, they really were able to show how human being would react to aliens, i mean the director for the first hour was working on SUCH complex ideology, that it boggles my mind, but i am sorry to say this but, district 9 turned into a action movie for the last hour, and that was a dissapointment.
@Themanwhoisabadass oh and one more think roeper is a fucking idiot. So how will a movie based on a war the US should have never of started matter in the future. Especially when we will start our exploration of other planets looking for life. District 9 will matter way more that hurt locker in 20 years.
@Themanwhoisabadass precious was alright but when i was watching it I felt that the writer went "so whats the worst thing I can do to my character" and went from there. district 9 was the only movie that was complete. fucking beautiful movie (budget was like 30 million and it looked just as good as camerons 500 million film). it had amazing interesting action (with gore, which is important to set it in reality). great acting and a great interesting unique story.
@Themanwhoisabadass like explain this to me how come in the hurt locker when the bomb squad leader leaved the base to go check out that kid and comes back they just allow him to come back in???..........I was like shouldnt he be charged with something or at least questioned, I dont know a military officer sneaking out of the camp into ennemy territory, sounds suspicious. plus that whole sniping scene was a waste of time. overall the movie is very medicore. has some great scense while other suck
@Themanwhoisabadass still though they give no respect to sci-fi or animation. it pisses me off cause I thought this was about art. inglorious basterds was an alright movie that cops out at the end. up is beautiful. avatar is a pretty show with a mediocre story line and 1 dimensional characters (just like fucking titanic, titanic over good will hunting are you fucking kidding me academy) . Hurt Locker has some interesting scenes but also has so pretty fucking stupid ones.
These are his predictions not his opinion. As much as I loved District 9, I knew that it wasn't going to win. The fact is this. District 9 was nominated for best picture, but not best director. It was quite obvious that the winner would be one of the 5 films that were nominated for best director and best picture. Don't blame roeper. Blame the academy for not nominating Neil blomkamp.
@FABBEFILMinc dude i am right with you and all my friends couldnt fucking believe that piece of shit Hurt Locker won, holy shit are kidding me and Avatar had THE MOST ONE DIMENSIONAL CHARACTERS SINCE FUCKING EPISODE 2. "District 9 isnt a legitimate contender", FUCK YOU ROPE BURN. And Up, im just going to say this, the Academy awards should suck Pixar's dick. Pixar rules. Up was awesome. Anything with fucking war always wins.
