Tomorrow I'll be heading out on the road for home. It's been a bit of a tough year, and there will be more trials yet to come, but the one piece of serenity I always have is knowing that I am loved.

My gift to my family this Christmas is this song. I sure wish I'd had more time to practise it and fix all the bad notes and make it perfect... lol... but then I suppose it wouldn't be "me" then. And I know they'll love it anyway... the same way they love me - mistakes and all.

Merry Christmas!

As Long As I Have Words

I got no way, to pay the debt I owe
For all your time, for all that I now know
For each time, you stand by me
For every gift of hope when I am weak

But as long as I have words that I can give
I'll tell you that as long as I live
I'm gonna love you

I got no way, to even up the score
And it seems as time goes by I need you more
Still you're there, to stand by me
The strongest word I know is family

And as long as I have songs that I can give
I'll tell you that as long as I live
I'm gonna love you

  • GREAT composition! Your family reminds me of my family -- we used to wheat farm and sheep ranch on the lone prairies of western North Dakota. I see you are from Winnepeg -- many folks from our little town of 150 (in the 1950's) went there of an exotic "foreign" vacation. It was a lovely place then and I bet still is! 5 STARS!

  • I love this one...it's really beautiful

  • Happy New Year to you in 2010
