I talk about women washing their hair. And yes you can wash your hair in braids! I have washed my hair plenty of times in braids and it was strictly because I needed it. Usually I have to condition my hair at least twice while I have a braided protective hairstyle at the time.

  • I think your advice should apply to human hair or synthetic hair

  • I usually wear synthetic hair when I get braids put in and I always wash it. I do it as a protective style and I feel if I don't keep my hair and scalp clean then I've lost the point of 'protecting' my hair. I haven't had any problems with breakage; in fact, when I don't wash it I have horrible breakage because of that build-up knot that forms between the added hair and where my new growth starts. Keeping my hair and scalp free of that build up has literally saved my hair.
