I am going out and buying a copy of this disc.

His polyphony technique is so good it sounds like a different pianist is playing each voice.

Et dire qu'il aurait pu jouer tout Haendel, notre phénomène du clavier, pourquoi nous a-t-il abandonné en 1982 et laissé l'humanité dans la dépression !

@gianm73yout It wasn't actually "his own" harpsi: he had it from a chorus master of Toronto ;)

Is it just me, or does this piece display considerably greater contrapuntal sophistication than is usually heard from Handel?
Or has Gould's matchless virtuosity and brilliantly lucid musical intellect tricked my brain into hearing a complexity that isn't really quite there?

Great! Gould with his own harpsichord!!! I don't know if standard harpsichordists can enjoy his beautiful interpretation...

Verdaderamente grandioso! Siempre pensé que fuera de su famoso Aleluya,
Handel era mas bien un musico mediocre. He vivido en el error! -Beethoven dijo:
!Handel es el más grandioso compositor que ha existido!

That is why youtube is great. It allows people to find and support great artists.
The timbre of the harpsichord changes a lot, especially around 5:00 - 6:00 is he using some kind of mute?

@aktungmak At 5:20 he uses the lute stop. A piece of soft material is pressed against the strings, close to the tuning pins.
