A trial of the Georgian criminal authority Tariel Potskhveria, who was arrested in Ukraine on 7 April 2006, later deported from Ukraine, has been launched at Tbilisi City Court.
Reportedly, Potskhveria was arrested under the demand of Georgian police in suspicion of organizing insurgency in Georgian prisons on 27 March; the Interior ministry released the records of the phone conversations, in which someone named Tarasa instructed the prisoners to revolt.
The lawyer of Potskhveria Shalva Khachapuridze claimed that his client had been a citizen of Ukraine and Georgia had not had right to convict him. (Source: Rustavi 2, 17.10.06 11:01)
