I love how every1 says everything is a wow clone. Guess what there were mmos before wow. They didnt come up with all that without getting it from somebody. So wow is a clone of itself!

The old republic online is another cut copy and paste WoW clone. In an interview the developers for old republic online said that WoW was the building block for the game. The game is for Star Wars fans, it will never gain the numbers as WoW and will have to run for 20 years just to make the cash that Blizzard has made from WoW. All aside, theme-park MMO's are not my cup of tea although I did spend some time playing WoW with friends. it's sad that they had to ride Blizzards cock for such an IP.

@Facepalm7717 1. Guild Wars 2 has around 6 million people (6 million accounts from Guild Wars 1) waiting to play it.

2. It's buy-to-play, so even if you pay to try it, you'll own it forever and you will still play it.

3. SWOTR and Rift have not done and are not doing anything different gameplay-wise, so WoW wins purely by the sub number.

Chances are Guild Wars 2 will be a step above in the MMO genre evolution so WoW/Rift/SWTOR are not even on the same level.

Wow will always be the best mmorpg in my opinion, but wow is going to go slowly downhill after Mist of pandas. Swtor shows great promise but thats just my opinion

Oh, HELL NO! WoW rules every MMO. They said the very same thing about RIFT and LoL. What happend? WoW's still first.

MMO is a Genre... much like First Person Shooter. Of course, two FPS games are going to be similar.

Don't forget, WoW got most of Everquest's subscribers. Why? Well, because SoE thought they were God's and could do anything they saw fit to the game, their customers, etc..people just needed a little reason to get away from EQ.

Now, Blizzard is acting like SoE did years ago and their subscribers are just like the ones in EQ were. Chomping at the bit to leave, they just need a reason.

I do agree with you that swtor cant be a wow killer and that is because ots more or less the same game swtor just have quests with speeches, but Gw2 got nothing everything new. If they do everything they promise to do dynamic quests, fun raids at low lvls, adventure gaming, fair pvp your own town etc...then allot of WoW gamers will join gw2 and blizzard got to make a big update or just forget about WoW and make other games like starcraft.
