@Lojikbom most power plants have scrubber and powder activated carbons to remove mercury, its not a problem.

Coal power actually produces more radioactive waste than nuclear power. Uranium and Thorium are naturally occurring elements in coal and are aerosolized along with mercury to produce toxic gas, not to mention CO2.
