burton is the man! always realistic without being overly serious like alot of the para -military guys are. just wants to inform not just show off. went to a seminar where he was teaching and he CHOOSE to only work with beginners even though he had the highest credentials by far. he walks the walk but stays humble. no camo gear or tough guy talk, just useful , practical, understandable information for any artist to enjoy. wish we had more such as this.

A 3:42 If you have a free hand, why don`t just go for the eyes instead of the arm? Stomp, knee to the tight, stomp again, get the fingers into the eyes, break the clinch and kick his living days out with some thai kicks.

Mabuhay,
I was very surprised to see Sifu David in the Clip.
I know Sifu David Rogers, he is an Excellent Martial Artist and Great Teacher.
Burton Richardson has a Fantastic Filipino Martial Arts Background, Mang Bert Labaniego is Amazing Teacher.

I like this technique a lot. As I watching it, I was thinking to myself, "Wow you could pull this off in a grappling tournament, and get a take down from it, or even use it on the ground." Then just before the 4:00 minute mark, Burton mentions it ..... thanks for the time you guys put into this stuff, and breaking it down, making it easy to learn and absorb.

Love it, right into that spin wheel type arm break/throw.

Burton's the Greatest!
Nice application but too much movement. Why not just attack the inside of the bicep with hammer fist or Phoenix eye punch thus disabling one of his weapons. Stay on the inside, then move to the neck and temple. Much faster and more productive. Thats why I love Bak Mei.

@slickslacks I love Bak Mei, too. But the fact is that once somebody has a solid collar tie position- a punch on the bicep will not 'disable one of his weapons'. However the punches and elbows he is throwing with his free hand while you are hitting his bicep can be very damaging to you! Better to learn how to break the hold using leverage as demonstrated here FIRST, and when you are in a good position you can use your strikes much more effectively.
