I can tell ya in the LA area time warner sucks too i am paying for their turbo plus service and i get 2mbps for the past two days. They are going to send a technician over in three days...wtf I have work to do.

@mannyzx1 dont worry they wont they know about it. its what its. i have the same issue and what i mean by that is that its never stable. it goes up and down all the time. how is yours.

@PoliticalHell it sucks in ohio too

@ih8thyssenkrupp Trust me, it's not NYC traffic. I use Time Warner Cable too, and it's slow as hell. The service just sucks.

so i could use a wireless router instead of the cable modem (motorola sb5101)?

wifi is crap an damages ur brains but if u want it tw does have modemwith wifi built in they cost 10 bux a month now fios is crap to cuz they are shitty now cox and that other one are shitty to
we ended up just gettin a local fiber internet provider we pay 500 bux for 200dwn 200up speeds better then anythin tw can provide for tv we use directv now
OMG I HAVE ROAD RUNNER AT MY PLACE AND IT SUCKS ASS. My neighbor has Verizon FIOS and i use his connection all the time, MUCH faster. Maybe it's the NYC traffic that makes it so slow. BTW Netgear routers are the best, that's what i use. If you can get Verizon FIOS in your area, get that, you'll LOVE it. their modems even have the WIFI built in

@ih8thyssenkrupp sadly verizon fios is not available in my area. the fastest service that is offered in my area is road runner from time warner cable. I wish I can try fios though, I've heard it's the best type of internet service.
