  • Rami, many thanks for the wonderful playing. It's really inspiring and makes me want to learn it. Hey quick question... in measure 7 you don't play the second C# (I have it as an 8th note), instead hold the C# and go right to the B (16th) and then the triplet C#/B/A. I'm wondering if that is artistic licence on your part or is that how it's supposed to be played? (In my score it looks like it's supposed to be played.) Many thanks again!

  • Hey Peyton,

Which piano forum? I am on a number of them...

To answer your question, this nocturne has many different versions. You'd probably find many more differences between the versions...

Thanks for your comment and good words.

    Rami

  • Wonderful singing tone ...

Which edition is this? The middle passage has different notes than the Mikuli edition, or the Urtext for that matter.

  • Thank you.

This version is my own, based on all the many existing versions. However, it is very close to the 1942 version published by International Music Company.

Urtext doesn't mean much, especially with Chopin, who rewrote and republished his compositions over and over and yet when performing used even different versions from the written ones...
