Theologian George Weigel wrote on Secretary Hillary Clinton's speech at Georgetown University, "For those with ears to hear in Gaston Hall that day, the promotion of the so-called LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/ transgendered) agenda had just been declared a human rights priority of the United States, in the same sentence in which the secretary of state had offered an anorexic description of religious freedom that even the Saudis could accept."

Watch Chuck Colson as he reminds the world that religious freedom is God-given, and not a gift from government.

  • @phoenixsong20 There's no government coercion sending them though.

  • Free to associate as they choose? HA! Try to choose NOT to associate with a minority and see how "free" we are!

  • @mistaspot1

Wow that's an amazing argument. Here's my equally astute rebuttal: "Yes there are"

    I win

  • Freedom of religion comes from God, eh? The Framers of our secular constitution must be rolling in their graves. Mr. Colson, even if you could establish that there is a god, which you can't, you'd still have all of your work ahead of you to show that he intervenes in our personal affairs and *gave* us anything at all. He didn't even give a son: If the myth were true, at best he loaned one, unlike the parents of kids who've died for our country so that you can spread your homophobic diatribes.

  • Charles colson, you are on my list and i was so kind to add an extra symbol ;)

  • @jameyram

    are you kidding me?

this country was founded by Christians. so how is it that 'we' have distorted our own belief?

  • It is a fact that most rapes and cases of sexual abuse are committed by heterosexuals. So far, the statistics suggest there is far less abuse of children when their parents are gay. If Christians want to promote heterosexuality as the basis for marriage among their own group, that is their right, but here is no reason to make the rest of the country abide by their prejudices.

  • Pope Pius IX “[It is an error to say that] every human being is free to embrace and profess that religion which, led by the light of reason he/she believes to be true”. Pius IX Syllabus of Errors (1864 AD), Denz. 1715.

  • Freedom of Religion includes freedom to marry according to your religious beliefs. Why is the government regulating a religious institution? If a specific religion deems that homosexual marriage is acceptable who is the government to tell them they can't allow it. That is a violation of freedom of religion. Don't forget freedom of religion applies to everybody not just Christians.

  • @do0me0nice You are alive today because many people before you did their part to make sure you would be here. There was allot of effort and time put into it. Sex while quite fun is the heart of how you and your future generations will see the light of day just as you do. Promote the misuse of sex and you disrupt that future. Homosexuals should not be punished for their personal practices, but they should not be helped and promoted either, such is racial suicide.
