This very design of Zippo Lighter .22 weapon was first constructed in 1944 by the OSS and is a very much standard issue to the CIA and friendlies.
One can buy a standard Zippo lighter, the steel block and all the parts and produce one with ease, just put the parts together, no drilling or anything.
But it is not a legal firearm as defined by the NFA 1934 ruling.
Look up "Poor man's James Bond" for a diagram of this very weapon.

This is very much real, and not quite legal.
There is also a cellphone gun, made with the fake demo phones you see in stores.

"Its not fake, let me tell you how:
1) Have you ever seen a .22 bullet? its diameter is smaller than a tic tac. It would easily fit inside a zippo.
2) If you pause at 0:14, you'll see that he doesnt even show the the exit hole. Idiot.
3) a .22 caliber bullet would definately not blow the top off. I would be surprised if it even singed the case.
4) Smoke comes from the zippo.
5) Zippo's are petrol lighters, not butane.
