oddly enough, the head coach Dom Capers now coaches in Green Bay as a DC.

It took a while for the Panthers to reach the NFC Title game after this loss to Green Bay. It seemed the franchise took a downturn for the worst until John Fox and Jake Delhomme arrived in 2002 & 2003 respectively. In the Panthers 2003 Super Bowl season, John Kasay & Mushin Muhammed were the only Panthers left from that 1996 team that lost in the NFC Title Game that played in Super Bowl XXXVIII against New England which former Panther Tyrone Poole was a member of.
