Part 1

Lamenting the loss of a Family Centered Christian Themed Amusement Park called Heritage USA.

With pictures and ambient music I want to take you on a short journey of memories...reflecting on the mutability of life. Nothing in this life stays the same. All is subject to loss, decay, and dissolution.

Heritage USA is no exception. Once a place where men, women, and children could gather and have wholesome family fun and entertainment with a religious standard of decency is now a forgotten wasteland, choked with weeds and haunted by shades of what once was.

Many of the buildings that you see in ruins are now no longer there. They live on only in memory and photos. Almost NOTHING remains of the one beautiful grounds of the Theme Park that was the heartbeat of the PTL network.

The new owners of the property maintain the main Hotel but all else has been allowed to decay. The large Disney type castle you see has been ravaged by low life vandals and is almost beyond salvaging.

  • Id really like to know the name of this song or where its from, it has an eerie nostalgic feeling to it, thanks.

  • @Biankito

It is from the new age artist Steve Roach. You can check out his music on you tube.

  • I find abandoned places, especially theme parks, so fascinating.

  • @ThoughtTraveler Thank you friend :)

  • @Biankito Absolutely! It's like they were once so filled with life and when they are abandoned it's like they never were. Just intrigues me.

  • @LeavingForVenus I think it is fascinating because theme parks have a sense of magic to them, and when they fall and are forgotten its like they were only a dream.

    I also think their fascinating.

  • My brother and I visited here a few months ago just for the fun of it. We walked around and went into Mainstreet. We remembered the place fairly well. It is sad, but we glorified God as He caused this "Christian Vegas" to be exposed for what it was and for its leaders true characters to be seen. Unless the city is founded on the Word of God it is sure to fall!

  • I never believed their hype. I am sure Jesus never said -"here's what I need - A theme park for the rich.' Shameful howe many people they duped.

  • All of that money could have saved thousands of lives. What a complete waste. Praise Jebus!

  • I lived and worked there as a senior video engineer for six years. I helped design and build the production studios.

  • It's so strange to see this. I went to Heritage USA with my parents when I was 20 (to make them happy...), and it really was a spectacular place bustling with thousands of people! I wasn't very religious back then, so it was a bit strange to me, but it really was a sight to see! I never would have thought back then that such a place would end up like this!
