The Director has a large number of monitors in front of her/him with all the camera feeds. One problem we have with our aging switcher is that cameras must be "previewed" first in order to switch to them. It's also a signal to the camera operators to prepare to go live and to stop making adjustments. Our new HD switcher (when purchased) will have a "live bus" which will allow any camera to be switched to at any time.

This is a very well done production, and the director is doing a very good job. One thing I might recommend for the director in the control room, if it isn't already available (based upon the preview calls it may not be) is to get her (or possibly him next year) multiple monitors with all of your feeds so the director can make the calls without wasting those little seconds on preview; that should get you back to action quicker.
