  • One of the best Female Singers of the fifties that hardly anyone knows today and that is a shame.

  • @markalson1938 I tell her every time someone comments on these. It tickles her no end. You know she only quit singing about a year & a half ago.

Last time I saw her was when she came here 4 yrs ago & she was just awesome. You would think you were listening to a women no older than 50 singing.

Every note, her control, her range & her hammerlock on that breath control that set her above everyone of that period. She still has it. Really all of her vocal control. Still sings in the same keys.

  • @SirRiehl The Wayward Wind was her biggest hit. Blew Elvis out of the #1 spot faster than any song & stayed there for what was a record at the time. It was an album of standards she recorded with Buddy Bregman on the heels of that which caught the attention of Ray Heindorf who'd been ordered by Jack Warner to "find a more Garlandesque voice" for the Helen Morgan Story before they even started filming so that Ann Blyth had to lip synch to Gogi's recordings.

  • Didn't miss Grant sing "Wayward Wind" ?

This is a lovely rendition, by the way.
