http://www.FTV.com/videos PARIS - The anticipation is felt at the Giambattista Valli show for Spring 2012 as VIPs like French model/aristocrat Ines de la Fressange arrive and models like Monika "Jac" Jagaciak and Joan Smalls get ready backstage. FashionTV has an exclusive interview with up and coming model Emily Baker from New Zealand, who talks about the clothes and shoes she's wearing for the collection. "It's a beauty memories collection. It's like the memories of beauty or anyways, the research around beauty. It's like when someone feels beautiful inside. It's not like a physical beauty, it's more like in a mood. If you feel beautiful inside, you're beautiful," the designer says of his sparkling collection. There are two sections of the collection, he says. The first is approaching dresses from an industrial standpoint--like designing a table or a car. This is why you can see a lot of ivory. Little by little, this becomes happy memories. They are projected onto the canvas, the designer describes. "It's almost that you have a Xerox of memories and you cut them and you patchwork them on new memories, on your soul." In the front row, Vogue Italia Editor-In-Chief Franca Sozzani has a chat with socialite Lee Radziwill and American model Elettra Wiedemann has her picture taken looking stunning in red.

Appearances: Joan Smalls, Monika "Jac" Jagaciak, Josephine Skriver, Kinga Rajzak, Daga Ziober, Caterina Ravaglia, Bette Franke, Zuzanna Bijoch, Emily Baker, Ginta Lapina, Candice Swanepoel, Sarah Blomqvist, Ines de la Fressange, Elettra Wiedemann, Franca Sozzani, Daniel de la Falaise, Lucie de la Falaise, Lee Radziwill, Bianca Brandolini D'Adda, Teresa Missoni, Margherita Missoni, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, Laura Lusuardi (MaxMara Designer)

  • Missoni family members and MaxMara designer Laura Lusuardi were both at the show. Why do you think designers and their families check out each other’s shows?
