you cant hear john at all in this. they really f'ed up the transitions too, but they pulled it together at the end. this is really subpar after being subject to the legendary rock and roll circus version.

well, i'd agree with you in that the sound is 'thin', but only in comparison to their performance of the same song in the rock and roll circus, for example. frankly i'd just call it 'different'. they have to vary the diet (style) a little bit, otherwise it would just get boring.

It's not about the style or the playing...just the gear. Super Beatles aren't particularly good amps...simple as that. There's just no way they'd ever sound as good as the Hiwatts he used in the UK. Of course, Pete knew that, but Thomas Organ and The Who had a contract to use these while in the States.
