THe problem with the ring in Christ Church is that it's actually quite heavy, even the smaller bells. When they go to ring in other places, they do far better, but the CC bells can be very difficult at time.

someone should really teach the 3rd ringer how to handle a bell rather than let a complete novice get on with it like that....

Practices aren't 7 hours, neither are peals. Peals on all 16 maybe, but Highly unlikely. It is this kind of attitude that gives the exercise a bad name.

i live right near here. wish somebody would cut the ropes! they make lovely music.. for the first 7 hours, but it gets quite repetitive!

Maybe there is a lot of bitchiness in ringing circles, but you have to remember that ringing is different to playing a musical instrument at home- With ringing, you are in effect, giving a public performance. Vidoes of crap ringing on Youtube do nothing for public relations as Youtube is accessable world wide.
