@JamesOhGoodie I think he has his good and bad points. But usually, the bad bits are where he shouts too much and it wrecks his acting. Oh, and the stupid faces that are meant to impress children when in reality, kids find it annoying too. Apart from that, he really is an excellent Doctor!

I was actually saddened by Mel. She was one of my favourite companions, The only thing i didn't like about her was her screaming.

sigh...I had such a crush on Ace...

@sallyjosie meh. I tend to not sweat the small stuff

@JamesOhGoodie LOL yes, and while I know I am a goody goody at least Torchwood is geared towards adults. Doctor Who whether a children's show or a family show, the fact is that there are 8 yr olds watching and hearing really gross inappropriate stuff that has no place on a family show. River is the grossest most inappropriate character ever. It's like Moffat can't make up his mind. But now he has pretty much locked her in a sociopathic villain. probably a female version of Glitz.

@sallyjosie Apparently it was Andrew Cartmel's idea, but John Nathan Turner flat out rejected it. It's one of the few decisions of his I actually agree with.
And the new series at least does it with a wink and a nob, usually. I find that's the best way to do that kind of stuff. Now "Torchwood" on the other hand...

@JamesOhGoodie what kind of sick pervert would have written the story that way?
what is it with science fiction. It seems to attract an inordinate number of weirdos and sickos.
and the new series is no exception.

Saying she is part time lord is like saying "My mother has a Ph.D therefore I am half-Doctor." LOL! Now wouldn't that be stupid?
Sadly Moffat and Russel are basing a lot of their stuff on what they saw as a child. And clearly they didn't understand a lot of what they saw or heard on the show back then. I know some people don't consider these books cannon but I think they are a heck of a lot more cannon then a lot of the newer books. They were meant to be a companion to the tv story.

cont :The members of each Chapter were bound together by a complex web of family and political alliances, and by one over-riding purpose-to compete with all rival Chapters. And of all the different Chapters, the Prydonians were the most aristocratic, the most powerful, and the most ruthless.
I of course enlarged the bit about how few Gallifreyans were actually Time Lords. So any nonsense that some very silly people have been saying about River being Part time lord is pure BS! lol

I also found in the book 'The Deadly Assassin' where it the following is mentioned :Spandrell smiled ruefully. There was more then a little truth in the old Co-oridinator's jibe. The Time Lords were themselves a kind of aristocracy. Relatively FEW INHABITANTS OF GALLIFREY WERE OF TIME LORD RANK. And this elite group was itself sub-divided into a number of societies or chapters, Prydonians, Arcalians, Patrexes, and so forth.
Sylvester McCoy is so underrated. He's one of my favorite Doctors ever.

In the writer's original notes, Ace was supposed to lose her virginity to Glitz.
...Take a good look at Glitz in this scene and this about that for just one second. Then curl up and cry in the fetal position.
