@TheAden101 technically speaking yes. you could even write a program to put characters on an area like a dinner table... and fight them like an arena battle, if your wore stereoscopic glasses that contain LED screens and a camera to position your your view within the 3d area you could move around the table and view he characters at all angles...

I'm pretty sure that all its doing is seeing a symbol and the position of that symbol. In this case it has four symbols. When it senses one of the symbols as gone (when he puts his finger over it) it plays a particular animation.
