Peter powers through this odd medley of songs in an impromptu effort to illustrate the usefulness of diatonic chords. Touching only white keys, he attempts to prove that it's possible to write and perform hit songs without a detailed knowledge of music theory.

Rammstein - "Du Hast"
Evanescence - "Bring Me to Life"
Elizabeth and the Catapult - "Just In Time"
The Right Hand - "Dead to Me"
Traditional - "Shenandoah"
Rammstein - "Reise, Reise"
Evanescence - "Going Under"
The Right Hand - "Fate, My Enemy"
Traditional - "Amazing Grace"

  • will do, amigo.

  • I learned a great deal in a short amount of time with this video.

  • thanks, e! i hope to post some more songwriting stuff on here soon (i still have that long presentation that's gonna have to be at least a 3-parter). now that you're back, we should hammer through some equipment. what do you say we do a "marathon"? we could get pasted and review maybe a dozen instruments / software items...
