I did most of my growing up in St. Louis and was there when this storm hit the area. I remember it like it was yesterday. I ran to the basement and didn't go back upstairs for an hour. The power went out for a few days and we ended up touring the entire State of Missouri while we waited for word that it was safe to go back home.

Being in 5-6th grade at the time, I couldn't control myself during storms like that, prolly since we lice right by a siren. They went off when the sky was orange like at the end, but much more defined. 10th grade is where I really start loving this stuff:-D

These St. Louis storms don't play.
It feels as if we get mini hurricanes even though we are in the middle of the damn country.

That storm took our power, well the second one that came through on Friday morning did. The first storm did some real damage. It knocked over some trees and took down power lines. The second storm that came through on friday morning kncoked out our power and it stayed out till saturday morning. Due to the fact that I live on a busy street that turns into a highway the further out west you go; the traffic lights were out as well. It caused chaos and we witness at lease 8 car accidents.

I live about 75 miles north of St. Louis and I remember that day well. We got one huge storm and then I watched it as it started moving south and southwest...just like it had eyes. We didn't get as much damage up here, you guys in the Metro got slammed.
Did the willow survive the storm?
