Oh no when I get old I'll do the longboarding at Malibu.
-
only shrot boards at first point i think . i thing its a bunch of 40 year old men fighting for an ankle high wave. give some to the groms.

Would be a great wave to surf with the Wavegrinder fin in the tail! Catch more waves, tighter turns, more thrust.
The guy on the striped minimal is ripping it!

If a longboarder can do it too then I'm not going out on my shortboard because longboarding is for old men.

@TheGreatCorneliuski: Longboards are great on small waves up to 8 foot faces for tip riding. Shortboards are great on waves with 6 foot faces and bigger for tube rides. Why? You can't truly tip ride on shortboards on any size wave and you don't have the speed on longboards to really ride big waves well. There are exceptions but few.

@TheGreatCorneliuski: Learn to ride both shortboards and longboards appropriately. Tip riding is just as much fun as getting tube rides. Both take skill. The only reason you would criticize one over the other is because you don't know how to do the other. Surfing is not about being stuck in one way - it's about improvising and trying new things. That's why waves are unpredictable. You are old if you get hardened to surfing just one way,

Malibu's first point is inhabited with mostly with longboarders. Malibu's third point is inhabited with shortboarders mostly. You might try a mid-sized board, around seven to eight feet long, which combines the short board turning capability and the tipriding option taht way you'll feel comfortable riding any of the three points.
