All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros was released for the Japan-only Famicom disk system, a system for the Nintendo Famicom that used floppy disks. The Nintendo Famicom was the Japanese version of the NES.

Just FYI, this is an tool-assisted speedrun. I used an emulator, and was able to re-record small segments of the video to make it look like I did everything nearly perfectly in realtime.

For those who are wondering - I own a Famicom, but not the FDS and certainly not the extremely rare floppy disk of this game. I only have the Takeshi's Challenge and Super Mario Bros. 3 cartridges.

  • 2:57 how you do that?

  • @kmilo0o0o0

It's a glitch in the game that I triggered accidentally.

  • haha. Mario saved the guy from Jamiroquai in world 8-4.

  • This is one of my first TAS videos, and I didn't care enough to learn the difficult tricks used in the more "professional" ones. It only took about 45 minutes to make, unlike the ones on tasvideos that take days. The response video by supermariobros3636 showcases many more tricks, and a generally much more optimized speedrun. And the reason I made a few mistakes was because I probably pressed the save button on accident instead of loading, but they were minor errors.

    Does this info satisfy you?

But a true World 1-2 this is not. Rather, while the status screen says "World 1-2," you're actually replaying the level before it, World 1-1. However, the game timer is not reset at 400 seconds, but continues from the point you did the glitch. If you lose a life or run out of time, you'll be sent back to the true World 1-2 (either from start or at the halfway point), but if you beat this strange World 1-2, you'll move on to World 1-3 as normal.

  • Although you can walk backwards through the brick wall at the end of World 1-2, the Minus World trick will not work, but there is another easter egg in this version you can do: go to the third pipe at the far right of the screen, the one which normally leads you to World 2. Then, try to go down this pipe and, at the same time, activate the warp zone code (this is the toughest part of the glitch). If successful, the status screen will lead you to believe you're re-entering World 1-2.

  • you that this game goes for around 1000 dollars??? lol

  • Holy crap, the plants are BILL COSBY!

  • what the hell, nintendo? What. The. Hell.
