Tuesday on WGSR TV in Reidsville NC Charles Roark who is a multiple convicted thief accused a US Marshall from Roanoke Va of assaulting him. Charles Roark not too long ago also accused a Rockingham County Deputy of assaulting him. That ended with a statememt made by Roark Sheriff Sam Page was ashamed of his deputy. Charles Roark is the son of the owner or the TV station. Roark's Criminal articles can be found at Martinsville Bulletin

Thanks. I wasn't meaning to sound doubtful of their abilities or anything. I was simply curious because you rarely hear about them being deployed compared to other LE units.

@JasonRedfield every month, they recently lost 3 men in Florida doing a string of high risk warrants...

Good stuff, In the real world you will not hear about it.
A real quiet group

This is one of the options on my list for things to do after my military service.

@grizzlyrdr yeah, i'm going definitely for my bachelors in criminal justice and then probably gonna finish up my masters in a college that offers it. i'm also probably gonna get training and experience before i try getting a job with the USMS

@faladith I think you could if your going to college and study criminal justice. If you become a police officer or military on top of going to college would help. The USMS would be a good goal so try your best in school and work hard.
@1179stmf, before you are so quick to judge, this was DEMONSTRATION at a national explorer conference. It was to merely give the explorers a taste of what the U.S. Marshals do. It was by no means a realistic training session. Wow.

I just went to talk put on by US Deputy Marshal and he said, a college degree is good, being a veteran is good, and experience too. Im sure if you went on the US marshall website they would have lots of good information. Or at the least someone you can contact who can answer your questions. Good luck!
