I am trying to be right but this submit to my husband has got to be the hardest! This always seemed to be an issue with Black men and Black women.

This is a battle me and my husband are somewhat going through right now and I feel we will for a very very long time lol I feel there is a fine line between submission, and being a pushover, it's hard to submit without feeling like I'm lowering my standards or something, ugh, I hope that makes sense. but yea, we can really but heads sometimes. I will be praying for us both girl!

My Sista, Submission is a reaction of love. it is in the love and respect your hubby shows you that you will learn to submit. However in love it is not a matter of who is right or wrong, it is a 'we' thing. A wise woman keeps the home. Even Jesus taught us that the heart of a servant is the heart of a king, in ur case Queen.

This is an old video, but I think it will help if you submit to him because you want to submit to Christ. It isn't about submitting to him because of him. It's because you are submitting to the Lord. How do you walk the 'I aint no punk' tightrope?--Let go of the pride. If he says something that offends, you wait till you are calm later and tell him nicely you don't like it.

Keep in mind, that a real man will not have to ask his woman to submit to him it is something that will automatically happen. Love is an amazing thing and through love and Christ all things are possible.The bible also states that a man should submit to his wife(think Sarah and Abraham) and love his wife like Christ loved us. Submission works both ways.Fellas you all need to think about that too.

@lilpumpkinpie05 Just keep your head up and listen to him and see if what he's saying makes any sense to you, if he has Christ he should not abuse his authority as a man and you should not belittle yourself as a child to please him. However, marriage is all about compromise and these days and times it's not easy being married the world is against that if you know what I mean. any way I wish you and your husband the best and i hope that you both will find some common ground and be happy.peacenluv

@lilpumpkinpie05 I know exactly how you feel, my hubby and I went through the same exact thing last year. He ended up leaving me for a while(5months) to be exact because of it. The problem was he was unemployed and wanted to control how much hours I worked to support the family because he didn't want to help cook, clean etc while I brought home the bacon. Eventually he realized he had made a mistake and returned home found a job etc etc and basically forgot all about the submission bull crap.
