[Part 2]

Just a two-part tutorial to show you my new, alternate method for creating curves (loops, half pipes, quarter pipes, etc). This new method is much quicker, as well.

Made this new technique because:

- Old technique took way too long to texture, especially for curves with more than 50 segments

- Old technique was buggy, sometimes it would suddenly change the texture's orientation (rotation and x/y flip), and you would have to manually change the u/v values segment by segment to fix.

- Cleaner look to the final curve, and I can show my new technique for texturing the sides of the trim (MBU-like, but better)

This technique relies on using both the pie slices plugin and the radial clone tool.

Enjoy!

  • Oh, I mean after these tutorials. Not for the learning factor, but more for the "wow" factor, so to speak :P

  • That wouldn't help anyone learn how to do it.
