A couple caveats on these results: Matt, using the HP3A, uses the Speed Up control on his Blendtec to go to the High setting - a recommended method. Angela waits 12 seconds on the apples and 22 seconds on the salad before utilizing the High speed on the Vitamix. Tipper does her blending on both the apples and salad with the Pulse button. The ladies' aren't "wrong" but there are more effective ways for them to do this specific blending task, thus effecting results in favor of Matt's blender/jar.

When I saw this video I decided to buy a blendtec. It's a good blender if you use liquid always you still need a plunger even though blendtec says you don't when making ice cream and nut butters you have to stop the blender and push everything down. So I went to Costco bought the vitamix tried it out and loved it I was able to make ice cream with just frozen strawberries and bananas no liquid. Also you can not walk away from the blendtec it jumps when you put hard frozen food. Vitamix is better

what about other things Vitamix does other than just veggie & fruit smoothies?

One horsepower for rating electric motors is equal to 746 watts.
Blendtec total blender has 1560 watts.
If it was 3 horsepower it would have 2238+ watts.

What is the name (the one in the middle) called and how much is it?

I wish I had seen this video BEFORE I bought my $450 Vitamix. :(

vitamix is such crap, why do people put up with it/?? lol sell it and buy a blendtec :)

You know those blenders are all self cleaning right?

@PE425 First off "it will launch the food higher, making it even harder and time consuming to blend the ingredients properly." That's what the tamper is for and it takes a lot less time to use it than it does to chop everything in to little pieces for the Blendtec. Second of all "with the VM, you get to replace expensive blades / gaskets that cost the same as entirely new Blentec jar," The Blendtec blades cannot be replaced, you have to get a whole new container.

What a great example of a completely biased demonstration. The only thing he had to say bad about the vitamix blade and container is that is was too "tight at the bottom". Since I'm sure that Blendtec designed their whole container so that it was easy to get sticky stuff out of the bottom...and not to blend things. I've personally heard dozens of first hand testimonies from Blendtec users and most of them were quite disappointed, and ended up returning it and getting a Vitamix.
