YouTube HD compression test.
One of the multiple test uploads (not listed) to see how bad the HD compression really is, and it's REALLY bad.
Every single one of them is this bad. :C
Even less than 4 Mbps bit rate 1080p and 720p videos before upload look a lot better than this.
Original recording made with DxTory at 1920x1080@30 fps with UT lossless codec.
Edited and re-rendered with Sony Vegas.
- WMV
- constant bit rate two-pass 12 Mbps
- resolution 1920x1080
- pixel aspect ration 1:1
Other tests include (and not limited to):
resolutions: 1920x1072, 1920x1080
fps: 29,997-30
bit rate: 8-32 Mbps (CBR/VBR, one-pass/two-pass)
type: WMV, MP4, AVI x264
audio: uncompressed PCM, MP3, AC3, WMA CBR/VBR
pixel aspect ratio: 1, 1.333
Bleh, I give up. :-P
Note: This is not YouTube/Google bashing, just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, or is Google doing something wrong?
