Washington State Champions, Northwest Junior Pipe Band

Day one of competitions at the Skagit Valley Highland Games in Mount Vernon, Washington.

Performing the medley selection and placing first for the first time in this grade, they followed on Sunday with a Quick March Medley they will use at the World Pipe Band Championships on August 16th.

The only youth pipe band from the United States going to the World Championships in 2008 and the first youth pipe band from Washington to ever go to the Worlds, it's a rewarding and memorable experience for these youth who are practicing as a band three times per week and positively driven to meet their goal; to play their best at the World Championships.

The band went to Scotland in August 2008, winning 1st place in two competitions (one against the World, Cowal, British and European Champions in Grade 4) and ended up placing 5th in their division of 23 at the World Pipe Band Championships, the highest placing youth band from America in 2008.

I was there! I totally missed all the pipe bands though :( dancing gets in the way of that. Sounds awesome there, i'm sorry I did miss it.
