  • These "empolyers" cannot force workers to toil for low pay. The workers choose to work for their employers because it is in their own best interest to do so. The way to make more money is not to merely demand it, but to acquire greater skills that command higher wages.

  • 1) Not including marginal utility with quantity theory.

    2) Supporting constant monetary expansion, and the distortion of interest rates.

    3) Supporting floating exchange rates, which has lead to massive volatility and trade imbalances.

    4) Responsible for the elimination of all sound money.

    5) Not dealing with the J-curve at all.

  • Truly awesome. Friedman was great.

  • MONTGOMERY COUNTY!!!!FUCK YESSSSSS!!!!!!

  • @fzqlcs

Well you have to pressure your boss too,

  • @birdspotting "protected from unfair dismissal"

Makes employers hesitant to hire new workers for fear they may be unable to get rid of them. Locks employees into current jobs. The "golden handcuffs" of job security.

    "8 hour work day"

Limits the amount of hours an employee may work. Employees must take second job to make ends meet. Part -time work disproves concerns about 16 hour work days. Take to logical conclusion of one hour workday.

    "access to health care"

    Please explain.

  • To suggest that improving labour conditions is due to economic expansion is completely false, with economic expansion during the 1920s also occurring as lower class living conditions declined due inflationary pressures. Also in Europe and Australia, unions and their political pressure has resulted in workers being protected from unfair dismissal, allowed the now obligatory 8 hour work day, and even allowed improved access to health care; resulting in high levels of productivity and social equal

  • @FletchforFreedom Here's the problem. Not only have I studied this issue before (it's both an interest and related to my job) but I went back and re-read what I had, found MORE and talked to people who'd know. You are simply, demonstrably and totally wrong. To claim the evidence is in your favor you have to be lying about having read it, not understand it, or be so blinded by your ideology that you can not see the truth.

  • One last: You have earned nothing but pity. Please make some attempt to grow up. When you do, there are rational people who can help you grasp reality. Until then, you would be best served actually making a real attempt to learn or relying instead on thorazine and those jackets you've grown fond of with the sleeves that tie in the back. Either way, I'm done with you, you poor sad ignorant creature.

  • @FletchforFreedom If you really believe any of that, you ARE a nut. Sorry, but if anyone isn't an ideologue, as are you, then they will be able to see how wrong you are.

If you've "immunized" anyone, I'd hope it's to the outright lies you tell.

Projection? That was HILARIOUS. Just hilarious.

  • Sigh. The psychiatric term for your reaction is "projection". The more common term is "stupidity". You did get one thing right: this interaction has become a waste of time. Still, I have effectively immunized anyone who follows from beliving ANYTHING that you have to say on ANY topic as anyone with an IQ higher than that of pulverized corprolite (fossilized dinosaur feces) can, in moments, look up the data and see that the facts are ENTIRELY on my side. Adieu of sad one.
