Class 86 and 87 Tribute Video

This is my personal small tribute to these two wonderful locomotives.. They are without doubt the most reliable and flexible Electric's to have been built to date.. They used to be in abundance up and down the WCML rushing passengers between London and Scotland. They have been replaced by pieces of rubbish so called pendos from Italy..(made by a car manufacturer would you believe!!!)..nothing will beat the comfort of the Loco-Hauled Mk3 coaches.. AC Loco-Haulage might be lost nowadays but none the less the memories will live on for many years to come. The distinctive hum and scream of their traction motors will never die. Please rate and comment as usual and I will answer what questions you have. There will be more videos on the way soon when I can get out again. Cheers for now.

fantasic vid, cant wait for my 87 bash on sat makes you realise how few 86`s there are still out there i need to get a few diagrams and get as many photos as i can since ive been filming ive only ever seen 1 86 running on the mainline and that was been towed by a 90.

seing all those 86`s is heartbreaking they need to be looked after, if only i had the money and the storage.

There really needs to be more AC loco hauled tours 1 a years is not good at all

I really miss them as well especially the 87's which used to be an everyday event down my local line at Macclesfield..the unmistakeable sound will not die for me they were a part of my childhood :-) Im on the tour on Satdy as well..great stuff we should see eachother sometime dudring the course of what should be a great day!! Im hopping on at Stafford with three mates.. One of whom is 87006 off youtube..his channels well worth a visit..

Thanks for the vid. I used to live in Staffordshire in my formative years and travelled on many of these two and from university. I loved seeing the 87s scream by. The day I turned up to travel to Stafford by train and a new Voyager pulled up, and I discovered it was Deisel. Horror! I felt we had gone back not forward. Now I need to find one again and hopefully, one day, we'll see them come past Worston MIll (best beer garden in the world) again at over 100mph. Breathtaking.
