  • You won't hear a sonic boom from the shuttle during lift-off because the shock wave is moving up and away from you. I was 17 miles as the crow flys from Launch Pad 39B -BSR

  • you can only hear the sonic boom when its going to land...I rember when I was 8 and me and my family would hear it and the shandaleir (hope I spelled it right) would shake...good old times...It was this one that exploded...right?
