In 1979 Worlds, the best 3 gymnasts were injured: Comaneci, Shaposhnikova and Mukhina. So it was much easier for Kim to take a gold. 7 months later, in the Olympics ,Shaposhnikova finished 4th in the AA, Kim 5th.

I don't know what her score was but I recall that she was carrying an injury to her ankle (hence the watered down tumbles). She didn't take part in the events finals and I don't think she was in the AA either.

Natalia has the verve and musicality of a rhythmic gymnast! It is so great to watch her! What was the score of this FX and how did she do in event finals?

I remember Natalia do a whipback for the first time and I said "What the heck was that?" I still love them to this day. Her first tumbling pass goes back HS, whipback, back HS double full. Correct me if I'm wrong.
