Motorcycle crash test #1 ARC-CSI 2008

Yamaha FZR hits the side of a Honda CRX with a rescue dummy, filmed with Casio EXILIM EX-F1 camera at 300 frames per second (so playback is 1/10th normal speed). The test was conducted at LVMS in Las Vegas at the ARC-CSI crash conference, June 2008 (see http://www.crashconferences.com/arccsi/2008Conference.html for more info). Nobody was hurt in the creation of this video. %^)

My CB750 had its forks pushed into the headers -totaled. My only visible injury was a 6" cut on my shin, but I was out of it for about 15 min and had to have surgery to repair ligament damage to my left wrist. Other than jeans, I had good gear and the helmet saved my face. It took 4-5 hours to think clearly, or I sure as hell would not have obeyed the cop that made me move the wrecked bike when I couldn't remember how to take it out of gear. After the ER my 1st stop was to buy a new Kawasaki

I had almost this identical crash (well, substitute Nolan helmet for baseball cap). when a lady pulled out rapidly from my right to beat oncoming traffic then hit her brakes when she saw me, mere feet away, blocking the road. Two things I recall clearly: the rapid changes of focal distance made it impossible to see anything but a blur after impact, and feeling the heels of my Sidi boots hitting the roof of the car. A driver pulling out then panic stopping is fairly common per Hurt Report.

that's the right thing to do... when you crash after a person doesn't look at the road for traffic, kick the car with the heel of your shoes

What is this? A class video for the cornors office so they can learn what happened to the bodies they picked up? I hope he took the dummy in the Ricer out with him too.
