  • Judging by all the comments below, Americans know nothing about good engines, especially diesels. Diesels are not meant to rev high, they usually achieve maximum torque in lower revs due to high compression and turbo etc. At 1500 RPM my car has max torque but will still rev to 5k.

  • diesel lol

  • 159 diesel 10x better

  • inside of the car it sounds really great, but if you're outside...well, diesel lol

  • @DiarmaidGNR I am a hardened Seat/Alfa Romeo/Fiat fan. I've owned more of the Fiat group then I have VAG group. Alfas and Fiats are both on the same reliability queues. I had 1 Punto 1.7TD which was appalling and went wrong every Monday but then all my other 3 Bravo's were ok. They did have weak steering which knocks out of alignment very easily and watch the deterioration of the manifolds. The interior electrics are usually fine, its just Head/Brake/reverse lights that can be an issue.

  • we love the diesels for their torque and for being "economic" (compared to a petrol engine with the same PS), but not for their sound. That's for sure. I have the same modell, with a 2.5 v6 petrol engine. You can be sure, any v6 will leave you behind, and be prepared, probably all the 2 litres as well (with less PS than yours). But you'll get the ride cheaper ;) Enjoy it!

  • @D41H4T5U You are right. Many diesel cars can shit all over an typical American gasoline V8 when it comes to acceleration, torque, fuel economy etc...

  • @robicool I have one and it has impressed me more than any other car i've driven...the amount of torque is just astounding and really good fuel economy. Most of the time we use acceleration rather than top speed in everyday life...and torque is the way to go for acceleration.

  • i miss my alfa 156 got 4 weeks ago and already the gear failured now cost me like 3000$ to fix it

  • @PJacko1985

absolutely.. i've put 20,000 miles on my V6 166 (now 90,000) and its not missed a beat. done some big journeys in it too..
