Promoted as "America's first inter-racial lake colony," Lucky Lake was a haven in the 1950s for jazz music and Harlem families saving for their country house. But when the lake was drained under mysterious circumstances, the community fell apart. Can today's residents stand together to bring back Lucky Lake? This 10-minute version is the "first chapter" of the Lucky Lake story, produced and directed by Tina Spangler, with editing, sound mixing, motion graphics & design by Mark P. Ring and cinematography by Michael Galinsky. The expanded version of the documentary is currently in production.

What a beautiful documentary. It's such a shame that the lake was lost. Hopefully it -- and the community -- can be restored.
And Tina, your cottage is darling! I'm glad that Etsy featured you.
