@gtepp031387 The reality is in the nuanced language of the Original Greek of the Nicene Creed. The spirit proceeded from God the Father. The Spirit also could be Sent Forth by the Son. Proceeded from and Sent Forth By are two very different theological concepts. Therefore to say that the Spirit suddenly proceeds from the Father and the Son is to change the theology of the original Creed. Perhaps it needed changing, but it was not the original intent or faith of the Fathers and Mothers.
@DaisyLark Actually neither do I. Looking back on this post, it doesn't seem relevant to anything you said. Perhaps I meant this post for another and accidentally directed to you. Mea Culpa, sorry.
@dcrippen2000 It's obvious we can't speak or understand the language of the heart if we are at different levels and other differences, too. It wasn't my intention to advocate, but to point out the difference. And, the other important fact is that the catholic creed was changed after the split, not the other way round. And the Catholics changed the architecture of the churches (the "romanic" ones) by closing the door where it was, opening one on the side, removing the place where the altar was, e
@catholicpeter I just don't get it Jesus is fully GOD, to say something didn't proceed from him, is saying something didn't proceed from GOD.The way I see it is that GOD appeared to us in 3 forms, not three selfs, if that makes sence. Take me Sean, you see me one day as a golfer, the next as a painter, the next as a writter, but all three are still Sean, and fully Sean, I can not say Sean the golfer proceeds from Sean the painter, and not from Sean the writter, this would be confessing two Seans
@coolest813 Haha, yes truly. Let me try and illustrate my meaning with an analogy. Imagine a bullet in a gun magazine, that travels through the gun barrel. (Forget all other parts of a gun for the purpose of argument.) Now the Holy Spirit is the bullet, the barrel is Son and the Magazine is the Father. The bullet travels from the magazine through the barrel. The magazine is the origin, but did the bullet not truly come from the magazine AND the barrel?
