When running for president his "two Americas" comment was referring to the growing economic divide between wealthy and middle class Americans. Here, Edwards is referring to two Americas in a political sense - the idea of growing political polarization between the left and right. Obama has bridged the gap between many Republicans and Democrats (as evidenced by his strong following in many typical republican strongholds); this is what Edwards means by "one America instead of two".
