@knotightul Well, it's an entirely different take on a different day. But some key differences are, Roger sings the intro here whereas Pete sang it on the single (and live). And the spacey instrumental break here with the french horn is unique to this version.

This version was appeared in 1968 footage

@knotightul no you can hear tuba...

Every version is so beautiful. Meaty Beaty was a played to death by me and my sister. And then we'd listen to the Who. ha ha !

is the only difference that this version is slower?

I have a best of collection, it's called: MY GENERATION-The very best of the Who. It's 1CD, 20 tracks and 50% are non album track singles from 1965 until ca. 1973. Great collection!!

cool version! thanx
nice to hear the Tuba
This has John Entwistle's influence all over it.
Nice change from the normal version I normally listen to.

Although I love the original single, still remember rushing out to buy it the day it was released, I really like the slow tempo.

Thanks for posting - always good to encounter a fellow Who geek/completist willing to share his rarities. And the rest of your uploaded collection is quite impressive.

Thanks, glad you like them. I was lucky enough to be a teenager when they started and see them at all the small clubs in London.
