Three simple questions any adult may ask a child, should they wish to offer themselves as an empathetic helper to the child...

For adults who genuinely wish to be helpers of children, these are three fundamental questions one can ask, each with a particular listening stance in mind.... implying a basic trust of the child's innate desire to learn, to grow, to be part of the community an his or her ability to do so motivated from within the child her or himself....

One has to understand and see the child's view point, one must not intervene too often without explicit invitation. To not do so communicates to the child a lack of trust in the child's ability, and that is harmful, for the child will defer to the perceived imputation and take it on, and thus undermine himself or herself...
