A true sad yet sweet country song (duet) with Ruby Rose Taylor and Kip Davies. Still it is filled with hope and the joy & success life can bring. It's also our own true story, from childhood dreams to love and then diagnosis with an incurable illness - in our case Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (VEDS).

Written by Kip Davies (guitarist/singer-songwriter) who lives with EDS and the threat of imminent death. Many people, from those with cancers to other rare conditions face a life of challenge, and their loved ones face the fear of losing them and they were in our hearts also as we wrote and performed this song. Please don't feel alone!

PLEASE HELP RAISE AWARENESS TO THIS RARE GENETIC DISORDER - EHLERS DANLOS SYNDROME and please keep those suffering similarly in your prayers. The greater the awareness, the more likely a cure will be found eventually. The lyrics try to tell our story, and also the story of all those we call family from all over the world. Out of respect and love for these fellow sufferers, the video features us, though despite recent scares, are so lucky to still have life, however painful. God bless you all, and thankyou so much for listening and caring - with much love Ruby Rose and Kip.

LYRICS:

Sweet Memories

She met him just by chance one day in summer,
Neither knew what roads might lie ahead,
What plans and dreams that they might build together,
But now she's got sweet memories instead.

There's many ways a man can make a woman,
Feel she's loved and fill her heart with pride,
Together they found all that they'd been needing,
Such chances come by just once in your life.

(Small Break)

One night he told her that he loved her deeply,
He'd never loved so much this way before,
But he had to share the news that he'd been given,
She could only pray in time they'd find a cure.

And so he lived for all that he could give her,
Bitter truths can sometimes set you free,
To go ahead and live life for the present,
It all comes down to what you choose will be.

(Musical Break)

I met her just by chance one day last summer,
I said I'm sorry, she just shook her head
For though he was no longer there to hold her,
She'd always have sweet memories instead...

PLEASE GOOGLE VEDS or EHLERS DANLOS FOR MORE INFORMATION (Thankyou!)
WE CAN FIND A CURE!

As almost as soon as i state EDS OR EDS 4 to such ... IM ASKED whats that !!! when Im only myself learning abt it lol

Keep up the gr8 work !!!

  • @Berwallace Thankyou very much for watching and sharing your own story of EDS 4.

You can access the words to this song by simply clicking on the more button where the write up is. Yes it is amazing how unfortunately few medical people know anything about EDS. aghh it can be so frustrating. Thanks again, Take care

  • Thank you Kip & Ruby for such a moving, heartfelt song! Though 50% of EDS cases are inherited from a parent another 50% of the cases are caused by spontaneous mutations without a parent having the mutation or a family history of the disorder.

  • @EhlersDanlosEDS Thankyou for your lovely comments on Sweet Memories. We are so glad to be able to contribute to raising an awareness to Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. We are honoured and priviledged to represent such a beautiful bunch of people who have such a deep compassion for others and an understanding that goes further because of the pain that EDS can bring.

We wish you and yours all the best. Keep up the great work in spreading the word!

  • Hi there - this is unusual and here's an unusual idea that may make sense. I've just finished an EP?album called English Country Girl with 18 year old Charlotte Howard. Three of the tracks also will have the original backing tracks. So taking the Title track English Country Girl and changing the lyric to Aussy Country girl you can make the song your own. I'm seaching YouTube for as many femail country singers round the world that I can find so we might make it a 'Global Hit'!!

  • @WildBlue77

Thanks for your reply ... greatly appreciated.

Song is sooo ''unfortuanatly'' a true aspect of EDS 4 sufferers & as well as all other sufferers of such simelar situ's etc :(

    BUT

We should all ....try & give life a major kick in the butt back !!!

    xx
