This video gives a walkaround of the portable, and shows various games being played on it. As mentioned in the summary, the system is easy to hold, the controls are all "just in the right place" and easy to use, the N64 SuperPad joystick is a joy to use; the system runs cool enough. Quake 3 plays well on this console too! I regard this project as a complete success as it has achieved everything I wanted it to.

System uses a PSone 5" screen, built in VMU which has it's own window in the case, rumble motor (gives a nice vibration), stereo audio, N64 SuperPad quality joystick, integrated CD mechanism, 6 amps Li-ion power.

The portable required a colossal amount of modding and some board trimming, rewiring and reduction. This has been a very hard system to complete and to make as slim as possible, given the thicknesses of the components required.

  • I think your greater success was getting the hefty Dreamcast to last longer on less batteries than the SEGA Gamegear...

  • lol

  • Well, you can commission me to make a new style N64 portable; and if you want a PAL DreamCast, mine is for sale if you want it.

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA Well, I've never flashed Dreamshell as a BIOS, because you need to solder an EEPROM on top of the DC's BIOS chip. And I can't find the EEPROM (It needs to the same used on the DC for bios, but with nothing on it). But to flash Dreamshell, you need to do an other mod (Very Easy, I did it) to be able to flash it. And then you can flash Japanese,European and American BIOS and make it run in NTSC or PAL (you dont need the other eeprom for this) I might join your forum :)

  • The VMU integration is genius.

  • How about joining my forum please and posting "how to" guide on this, could be interesting!

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA Yes, it can run games directly from an SD card without a GD-ROM drive, you can flash Dreamshell as a BIOS.

  • Marvel vs Capcom 2 on the go?...... dear lord..

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA

How much does it Cost tp commission your for a GCp ?

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA how much for an n64 portable?

  • @MODDEDbyBACTERIA AW MAN. If i didn't just get in a tight spot with money, i'd totally take this.
