It works! After watching this, I ran to Circuit City to haggle on a $700 Toshiba laptop. I asked for a manager and started asking casual questions about the laptop. Then I began complaining about the price, saying that it was "over my budget". After negotiating, he agreed that either (1) I buy the laptop by itself for $670 or (2) I buy the laptop for $650 if I purchase a printer with it (the printer had a $50 rebate). I was trying to get it down to $600, but hey, I still got $50 off the sticker!

Im an electrical contractor. I find it insulting when people try to offer me less than the price I've qouted. You dont do that for your doctor, your lawyer, your mailman....why attempt that with a tradesman? Insulting. It also earns you on the list of problamatic customers that I circulate in my area.

that's right. a guy I know was at Best Buy and, through negotiating with a sales guy and the manager, was able to purchase a brand new Mac Book Pro $350 off. No kidding! Haggling a reasonable price REALLY WORKS because a good store will do anything to make a sale (and make you happy).
