@hawkdsh thats pretty much what i was saying, i was just trying to put it in lamens terms, cause it seemed the person asking the question didnt know very much mechanically, so i didnt wanna throw valve overlap or intake centerline, duration, lift, etc... into what i was trying to explain and him be like, WTF?!?!? lol. but yeah, i knew what you were saying, i was just trying to explain it in lames term to the person asking the question, lol.

@hawkdsh It's also why N/A cams with big duration numbers tend to have footnotes in the catalogs explaining that they require a manual trans or high-RPM stall. Can't launch with one at 1500 RPM, or you're likely to bog or stall.
