It seems that you just keep a good man down, and when it comes to being well-prepared, Zack wont find anyone better than Barbaros. He's packed with so many powers, even Wiki's transformation bell won't incapacitate him for long. That must be why all of his pieces were scattered about so thoroughly.

No sooner than Zack and his allies escape Treasure Island through Barbaros's ship (the same one Barbaros promised at the beginning of the game) that barbaros launches an assault on it, bent on taking Zack down with it. He summons the Void from Super Paper Mario and plunges Treasure Island into it, and everybody tries their best to escape its grasp.

Bararos begins with sending out his zombie pirates, though he quickly realizes it isn't going to work. He sends out four, Zack shoots them down. He sends out eight, Zack rings a Wiki amplifier to immobilize them.

Instead, Barbaros activates the floating fists on his battleship, which Zack must respond with this ship's own robot hands. It took me a while to figure out you were supposed to hold down A, but after some time, I gt used to it.

Always thinking on his feet Barbaros realizes Zack can keep this up as long as he can, so Barbaros sends out BOTH fists at once. Zack only has one robot hand...How is he going to counter something like this? Well, that anchor on the right has just been activated. Why not chuck the anchor at one fist to keep it in place while the other fist gets thrown right back at it?

Barbaros tries the missiles next. (It's almost as if he's learning the ropes alongside Zack.) This ship's cannons can't do anything against it--Zack will need to find some other way, and it involves Goon Totems.

  • wait- in the level "return of the legend" Barbaros needed Wiki to turn back into human form, so how did he turn back without him between "Barbaros's land" and "the final battle". Can someone explain this to me?

  • @colonelfig Beats me. Barbaros is capable of a lot of really weird and powerful stuff. He seems to have godlike power.

  • This was my favorite boss in the game, hands down.

    Just good fun.

Also I just noticed that the ship has a beating heart

  • Where? i don't see the heart.

(It must explain why Wiki can itemize Gigaros though.)

  • 0:13

    Bottom of the screen

Gigaros can be itemized because it has a brain (which is what Barby uses to control it)

  • Oh, I was looking at Gigaros the whole time searching for that heart...

  • @colonelfig Well there was still a curse on his body in Return of the Legend and Wiki lifted it. I think that as long as his body parts are still together, he can come back as many times as he wants as long as the curse is absent (the epilogue shows that he's still alive even in the black hole).

  • Why does everything always happend like this in games

    Yay we did it :D

O wait we have another boss to face

    YAY WE DID IT :D

  • Hang on a sec... How can you use a bell in space, WHERE THERE IS NO SOUND!?

  • The music has a bit of the dark remix of Zack & Wiki theme in it. It sounds pretty epic for the final battle.

  • Oh my... Babaros has Wheel Gator on his side!

In all honestly I expected this from CAPCOM

Unless Wiki can get X or Zero out here he is done for....

    Anyway nice video :)
